What do I need to know before I register for the ATLS program?

Before registering for the program, there are several factors to consider:
Make sure that the program is available in your area. If you cannot find a provider close to you but still wish to take the course, be aware of the time you will spend on your commute, as well as the energy you will need for the lectures. The ATLS is meant to help further your knowledge, but you should consider postponing it if your schedule does not allow you to participate properly.

Carefully check your institution's requirements. Make sure you are informed about what is expected of you during the course.
Be aware of the cost. Some hospitals will cover your training, while others might not. The ATLS is costly, even more so if you need to commute. See if your institution has any programs in place that could provide you with financial aid for the ATLS.

How do I register for the ATLS program?

You can register for the ATLS program through the institution where you wish to take the course.
Usually, institutions will have their own online portal that handles registration. You should be able to find this on their website under the ATLS section.
